Notre Dame Student Dies Recording Fighting Irish Practice

20 year old Declan Sullivan, a Junior at Notre Dame, died on Wednesday after the tower he was on fell over as a result of gusting 50+ MPH winds.

Sullivan was video recording Notre Dame’s football practice Wednesday from a hydraulic scissor lift. On Tuesday, the Fighting Irish had practiced inside because of windy conditions.

There will be a special Mass said in Sullivan’s memory at Notre Dame on Thursday.

Sullivan sent out two tweets on Twitter where he mentioned the conditions before he died:

“Gust of wind up to 60mph well today will be fun at work… I guess I’ve lived long enough :-/.” at 3:22 PM.

“Holy fuck holy fuck this is terrifying.” at 4:06 PM.

His fall from the tower came at 4:50 PM.
