NFL Coaching News

With a majority of the NFL teams officially done for the season, coaching news is going to be coming fast for the next week. One man is already looking for a job; how many more will join him?

The Cleveland Browns have fired head coach Eric Mangini. Mangini led the Browns to a 10-22 record, which isn’t suprising since it’s the Browns. Many expected this move since Mike Holmgren took over as the team’s President. He’s expected to bring in his own coach in, if he doesn’t name himself the coach; Holmgren had successful stints in Green Bay and Seattle.

Other coaches that could be looking for work are Jeff Fisher (Tennessee), Jack del Rio (Jacksonville), Tony Sparano (Miami), and Tom Cable (Oakland).

2 that might not be are Leslie Frazier and Jason Garrett, who are expected to have the interim tag removed from their titles in Minnesota and Dallas, respectively.

Many of the expected names are being tossed around – Jon Gruden, Jim Harbaugh, etc.

Other coaches looking for work:
- John Fox, Carolina – contract not renewed.
- Marvin Lewis, Cincinnati – contract not renewed.

Jack Del Rio will be staying on in Jacksonville. The roster rebuilding that he’s had to endure starting in 2009 makes the late season losses more allowable.
