Final 2011 NFL Mock Draft – 4/27/2011

Here’s my final attempt to predict what will happen in tomorrow night’s NFL draft. Rumors are swirling about the Broncos trading with the Redskins or picking Patrick Peterson…the 49ers have Prince Amukamara rated higher on the their draft board than Patrick Peterson…I’m not buying into those too much, but we’ll find out tomorrow night.

* denotes underclassmen.

  30. New York Jets – *Akeem Ayers OLB, UCLA
  31. Pittsburgh Steelers – Danny Watkins OG, Baylor
  32. Green Bay Packers – Brooks Reed DE/OLB, Arizona

***I believe that Christian Ponder will go in the late part of the first round after a team trades back up into the first. Possible candidates for pulling this off are the Bengals, Bills, Cardinals, and Titans. There’s limitless possibilities as to what will happen, and that’s what makes the draft so interesting.

There’s also lots being said about Andy Dalton going in the first round. I don’t buy into that one bit. He’s got the smarts and work ethic, but his overall abilities are worth a late second round pick at best.

I will be live blogging the draft tomorrow night on this very same site. Check back on the home page of 85percentsports.com to read and watch along with me. Feel free to comment and get involved.

  1. Really good mock man. Mocks are definitely tough, especially for us guys without any inside sources but really anyone’s guess is as good pretty much. There’s so many variables and there’s always stuff happening in the draft so no one really knows what’s going to happen. Obviously, I disagree with you on a few of yours up there but for the most part I think you’ve done a pretty solid job with this one. Like I think Bowers and Solder will go a bit later but hell what do I know.

    • You hit the nail on the head Chris. Thanks for the comment. There are so many variables and then you got trades. Nobody is in the war rooms or can see these teams’ boards, so it is mostly a crapshoot.
