Down to one of the last fantasy scoring positions – the Kicker. A position that can make or break your week. Who’s number one?
1. Nate Kaeding – The guy is just so consistent…and kicks in the most beautiful place on earth (San Diego).
2. Neil Rackers – Rackers has a great leg, and the Texans should be able to move the ball. I like Rackers this year.
3. Stephen Gostkowski – The Pats are in the Red Zone all the time. Gostkowski is a guy you can trust…I just don’t trust the wind in Gillette Stadium.
4. Sebastian Janikowski – Sebastian has been a kicking monster the last couple years…if you get extra points for 50+ kicks he may be a little more valuable.
5. Matt Bryant – Falcons have a good offense, play in a dome, and Bryant is a solid guy.
6. Mason Crosby – Great kicker…bad kicking stadium.
7. Josh Brown – The Rams’ offense should be better this year…hopefully more opportunities for Brown.
8. Garrett Hartley- The Saints move the ball over the place, but don’t kick a ton of field goals. If Hartley can be consistent, he could be a good option.
9. Dan Carpenter – I’m not sure if any kicker had a better 2010 than Carpenter. I just don’t trust the Dolphins offense enough to draft him higher.
10. Adam Vinatieri – Vinatieri’s resume is second to none, but he’s not the kicker he was 2-3 years ago. He should get a lot of chances though.
11. Alex Henery – The rookie has a monster leg and the Eagles could be the best offense in the NFC. Good combination.
12. Rob Bironas – Bironas has been one of the most consistent kickers in the league for the last 3-4 seasons. I’m not sure if the Titans can get close enough to the goal line to benefit him.
13. David Akers – The move to SF in 2010 seemed to help Akers. He should have a decent season.
14. Billy Cundiff – Cundiff really isn’t much more than a bye week fill in, but if the matchup is good…grab him.
15. David Buehler – Ohhh Dallas…you have the talent to move the ball, and Buehler’s the man.
