The draft order is based off of my power rankings from after week three of the NFL season. There are some prospects who have available scouting reports and you can see those by clicking on the player’s name.
Kansas City Chiefs – *Andrew Luck QB, Stanford
Jamaal Charles out for the season is the worst thing that could’ve happened to Matt Cassel. He’s completing 65% of his passes, but he has a 3-5 TD to INT ratio. Luck is a once every 10 or 20 years quarterback prospect. Decision making, accuracy, arm strength, athleticism, leadership, smarts…he’s got just about anything and everything the NFL wants in a quarterback.Indianapolis Colts – *Matt Kalil OT, USC
So what if they drafted Anthony “George” Castonzo in the first round this year? They’re going to have to protect Peyton Manning better from now on. His quick release and the quick offense may not be enough to keep him from getting hit.Minnesota Vikings – *Justin Blackmon WR, Oklahoma State
Sidney Rice was a pretty big loss for Minny. I don’t think Percy Harvin is a number one type of receiver and the offense could use another target for Christian Ponder. Blackmon is a big man with great after the catch ability, but as most receivers do when they come out of college, he needs to work on route running quite a bit.Miami Dolphins – *Matt Barkley QB, USC
Chad Henne just isn’t getting the job done. It seems like no second round quarterbacks since Drew Brees have really done much of anything. Barkley has been performing well so far this season, but there’s still quite a ways to go. He hasn’t been setting the world on fire, but it appears he’s got the potential to go this high.Denver Broncos – Jared Crick DL, Nebraska
In the 2011 draft, the Broncos failed to get an upgrade at defensive tackle. I think they could use a guy like Crick, who does a great job of busting through the gaps and getting into the backfield. Oh, and Broncos fans who flat out wasted money on billboards in Denver, way to waste your money. Tebow would’ve rather had you donate it to charity than to waste it on such crap.Seattle Seahawks – *Trent Richardson RB, Alabama
Missing out on the Andrew Luck sweepstakes causes Pete Carroll to have to “settle” for Richardson. The offensive line is young and they definitely need a franchise quarterback, but the elite tier quarterbacks are gone and Richardson is someone who could be a star in the league.St. Louis Rams – *Alshon Jeffery WR, South Carolina
We knew it all offseason and they addressed the need at wide receiver in the offseason and the draft, but the passing game is still struggling. A big, number one, impact receiver like Jeffery should help.Jacksonville Jaguars – *Donte Paige-Moss DE, North Carolina
Aaron Kampman has two ACL injuries the last two years and no one else is creating much of a threat for a pass rush. Paige-Moss may not be rated this high yet, but he will, if he comes out for the 2012 draft. Jack Del Rio and most of the staff with be gone after this season, so maybe a new staff will be able to get more out of their players.Cincinnati Bengals – Quinton Coples DL, North Carolina
Coples hasn’t been dominating as much as expected so far this season. He’s dropped a few slots in my Mock Draft Value Board, but is still very much a big time prospect. He may end up back at defensive tackle after switching back to defensive end this season, but he’s got versatility along the line and that’s really invaluable in a player.Cleveland Browns – *Dre Kirkpatrick CB, Alabama
Eric Wright left for Detroit in free agency and across from Joe Haden the Browns need a better corner. Kirkpatrick is my top rated defensive back that’s eligible for the 2012 draft. He’s going to be either the first or second member of the Crimson Tide to be selected if he decides to come out.Arizona Cardinals – *Jonathan Martin OT, Stanford
The Cardinals have allowed eight sacks in the first three games so far, and I think it could get worse. The offensive line had Daryn Colledge added in free agency, but Levi Brown at left tackle could still be upgraded over. Martin is one of the top offensive tackle prospects as an underclassman for 2012.San Francisco 49ers – *Landry Jones QB, Oklahoma
Jones may not be rated this high, but I think he could be a riser during the offseason. If the Niners and Jim Harbaugh miss out on Andrew Luck, they’ll be desperate for a quarterback. Alex Smith isn’t working out in his seventh season with the Niners.Carolina Panthers – Alfonzo Dennard CB, Nebraska
The Panthers could use an upgrade in talent at the corner position. They lost Richard Marshall in free agency to the Cardinals. Dennard (pronounced like “dinner”d), missed the first couple of games this year with a pulled leg muscle, but finally came back for most of Nebraska’s game against Wyoming. He’s considered a better corner prospect than Prince Amukamara was last season, but if he continues to be out with the injury, he won’t get drafted higher.Tennessee Titans – *Luke Kuechly MLB, Boston College
Barrett Ruud was a nice addition in free agency just before the 2011 season started, but I feel Kuechly would be an excellent addition to the linebacking corps in Tennessee. 2011 second round pick Akeem Ayers has played well thus far, so they could have a pretty formidable linebacker unit.Washington Redskins – BranDon Thompson DL, Clemson
The Redskins have quite a few defensive linemen approaching free agency for 2012. BranDon Thompson is more of a run stuffing lineman rather than a pass rusher, but he definitely has the ability to get into the backfield and get to the quarterback.Chicago Bears – Michael Floyd WR, Notre Dame
GM Jerry Angelo has two options: protect Jay Cutler or get a wide receiver to help Jay Cutler. I think he’d choose a wide receiver. Floyd has some character issues, but after another chance, he found his way back to the right path and is doing great for Notre Dame this year.New York Giants – *Riley Reiff OT, Iowa
Eli Manning and the Giants offense hasn’t been as good as expected this season. The offensive line needs to be addressed. Manning has been sacked 10 times already so far, and the offense as a whole just isn’t working quite right.Oakland Raiders – Zach Brown OLB, North Carolina
Al Davis…finish this statement for me…loves speed. And that’s what Brown has plenty of. Brown set the indoor track school record for 60-meter dash with 6.73 seconds during his sophomore year. Brown is still more athlete than football player, but we’re seeing plenty of improvement from last season to this season.Cleveland Browns (from Falcons) – Jeff Fuller WR, Texas A&M
Fuller may see a drop in his draft stock because of his play this year. He was expected to be a huge impact player and one of the top wide receivers in the nation, but so far he hasn’t really lived up to that. He’s still a big time prospect, though. Greg Little was drafted last year, but more talent at wide receiver is still needed.San Diego Chargers – Courtney Upshaw LB, Alabama
Chargers have allowed a bit too many rushing yards so far this season (111 YPG), an intimidating presence in the middle would help. That type of player is Upshaw. He’s known as a big time hitter and can get into the backfield, whether he’s rushing from linebacker or at defensive end.Dallas Cowboys – Janoris Jenkins CB, North Alabama
Jenkins was all set to leave for the 2011 NFL draft, but then he was cited for misdemeanor marijuana possession, so he withdrew. He then proceeded to get charged with the same exact thing in April. Jerry Jones is a GM who could take talent and ignore the problem signs, like he did with Dez Bryant in 2010. It’s payed off so far.Tampa Bay Buccaneers – *Vontaze Burfict MLB, Arizona State
Burfict is a monster. He’s intimidating, flies around, and makes plays, but this is also his downfall. He has trouble keeping his cool and gets flagged way too often. He’ll either have to show he can get it under control or risk losing out on millions of dollars by getting drafted later because he can’t control his emotions.Philadelphia Eagles – Lavonte David LB, Nebraska
The Dream team isn’t exactly killing it. The problem spots identified on the Eagles before the season were the offensive line and the linebackers. And so far, those are the actual problem spots and need improvement.Pittsburgh Steelers – Cordy Glenn OG, Georgia
The Steelers just aren’t winning the line of scrimmage much this year. The Colts, that’s right, the Colts did a great job of stopping the Steelers’ running game last Sunday night. And as usual, the offensive line is having injury problems. Also look for the Steelers to continue to try to get younger on the defensive line. Cam Heyward was drafted this year and Ziggy Hood from 2009.Baltimore Ravens – Mark Barron SS, Alabama
The Ravens upgraded at corner by drafting Jimmy Smith out of Colorado in the first round this year, but they lost Dawan Landry in free agency. Barron’s stock dropped toward the end of last season due to him trying to play through injury (which is why his play dropped off), but so far this season, Barron is rising again.Houston Texans – Josh Chapman DT, Alabama
Chapman could be a huge plugger in the middle for the Texans to help improve them in the second year of their 3-4 defense. Houston’s pass defense is ranked 11th after three weeks and the defense overall is improved. Chapman would be a great presence to have in the middle to stuff the run or take up blockers.New York Jets – Manti Te’o LB, Notre Dame
Any time you allow a single rusher to run for 171 yards by himself, there’s going to be a knee-jerk reaction that you need to immediately change something up. Whatever went wrong against the Raiders, the Jets need to fix. Even if McFadden ran for just a 100 yards, the Jets would be ranked 20th in the league against the run after three weeks.New England Patriots (from Saints) – Chase Minnifield CB, Virginia
Help is still needed on the Patriots’ defense. They took Ras-I Dowling from Virginia in this year’s draft, but he’s got injured already this year, which was a concern about him when he came out. The Pats are ranked dead last in the league in total defense. That could be because of the powerful offense scoring all the time and the other team always having the ball, but still, dead last is not acceptable.Detroit Lions – Andrew Datko OT, Florida State
It’s been a problem for the Lions for at least the past three seasons. Protecting the quarterback must improve. Matt Stafford has been able to stay healthy so far. The line has improve a bit, only allowing five sacks so far after three games, but 14 QB hits. Datko has started a bunch of games at Florida State (40 games to be exact). He has the tools to become a good NFL tackle.New England Patriots – Vinny Curry DE, Marshall
The Pats have only scored six sacks so far after three games this year, so their pass rush (and defense overall really), needs to be improved. Curry is underrated right now, but he’s one of the lesser known players who I think will be taken in the first round in 2012.Buffalo Bills – Kelechi Osemele OL, Iowa State
How the Bills’ offensive line is doing so well, I have no idea. The Bills as a team overall are a huge surprise, obviously. If they pick here, not likely, but if they do, Osemele is a huge presence on the line. He’d be able to be at right tackle most likely, or guard.Green Bay Packers – Coryell Judie CB, Texas A&M
The Packers’ pass defense has…well…not been good this season. They’ve been dominant against the run, but the pass needs help. It may be another case the same as the Patriots. The offense scores so much, the defense is always facing the pass.

I see the Jags going for a WR too pair up with the young QB. With only 3 QB’s in the first down that will increase by the time of the draft.
That’s another very real possibility. I think Gene Smith won’t reach for a receiver in the first, but if one is there that’s worth it, he’ll pull the trigger. I’d love to see Alshon Jeffery or Justin Blackmon in Jax next year. Michael Floyd is playing very well this year, but his past would probably prevent Smith from considering him.
