Suspended for the first five games of the 2011 season for selling his 2008 Big Ten championship ring (which he had to repay $1,000 for doing so).

January 2009: cited for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia (charges later dropped) after he was stopped for running a stop sign. Police agreed it was used for smoking tobacco.

Also in 2009, suspended for the first two games of the season for violating team rules.

• Prototypical build for an NFL left tackle (long arms, tall, has the athleticism to guard against speed rushers).
• I liked what I saw from him in the run game. He was able to get a good push while keeping his feet moving.
• Adams almost always was right there with the stunting defensive lineman, showing good awareness.
• He did very well pass protecting (pushing rushers past the pocket, didn’t see him get bull rushed and backed into the pocket), but has shown in the past that quick pass rushers could get past him. Better technique will help.
• From profootballweekly.com 9/26/2011: NFL Evaluator: “I had a hard time sticking my neck out early on (Ohio State OLT) Mike Adams. I thought Gabe Carimi was a better athlete. I liked the center (Mike Brewster) better than the (left) tackle.”
• Adams could rise to a top 20 pick after the combine and private workouts because of his athleticism and potential at left tackle, barring injury. However, that also depends on if a team is picking in that range of 15-20 that isn’t concerned about character.
