10. Larry Drew, Atlanta Hawks
Given the circumstances, Larry Drew has really held the ship together in Atlanta and done a wonderful job. This season, he’s battled injuries and a star player that wants out; yet the Hawks are still a team that can potentially make a splash in the playoffs this year.
9. Doug Collins, Philadelphia 76ers
Collins is, admittedly, the guy that probably needs to prove it in the playoffs to be this high on the list of NBA coaches. He’s certainly had an odd career; coaching only ten NBA seasons since 1986. But his track record of getting teams into the playoffs is pretty good. Right now his young Sixers are 2nd in the Atlantic, but it is entirely possible that they re-grab the Division lead in the coming days/weeks. And if that happens, watch out for Philly.
