Alex Rodriguez ended his 12 day homer drought to get his 600th.
He took a 2-0 pitch from Shaun Marcum deep in ther first inning of today’s game.
After the shot, his teammates greeted him on the field and the fan at Yankee Stadium gave him a standing ovation. The ball landed in Monument Park, which was easily retrieved by a stadium employee.
This was 3 years to the day of this 500th homer.
Rodriguez, the youngest player to achieve this feat, joins Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, Ken Griffey Jr. and Sammy Sosa in the 600 club. He currently ranks 7th all time in home runs.
