Kevin Harvick clinched a spot in the NASCAR Chase for the Cup with his win yesterday at the Michigan 400.
Harvick passed Denny Hamlin with 11 laps to go to take the lead. Harvick took a risk by staying on the track rather than pitting on a caution with 32 laps remaining; he moved to the front of the pack with Tony Stewart.
Hamlin finshed second, followed by Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle, and Matt Kenseth. The 3-5 guys are members of Roush Fenway Racing, who’s owner (Jack Roush) was at the track; Roush was in a serious plane crash and this was his first trip back to the track.
