Three teams have already decided on their quarterbacks for the upcoming weekend. First, Jimmy Clausen is in as the Pathners QB (as posted by Jeremy yesterday). Next, Kevin Kolb is back as to lead the Eagles. Finally, Vince Young is still going to be the QB for the Titans.
Kolb has been cleared to practice and announced as the starter for the Eagles this weekend, as they head to Jacksonville. Kolb received a concussion in the first half of the season opener and missed last week. Backup Michael Vick is line up with the receivers, where he’ll see more time than at quaterback.
“I think it’s a beautiful situation,” Coach Andy Reid said Monday. “I look at it a lot differently than other people look at it. I’ve got two quarterbacks that can play at a very important position. I’m a happy guy about it. There are a lot of teams that don’t have good quarterbacks, ones that they feel like they can win with, and I feel like we can with both of those guys.”
Meanwhile in Tennessee, struggling QB Vince Young will keep his job for now, and apparently the rest of the season.
Young, who threw 2 interceptions and had 1 fumble against Pittsburgh, was benched in the fourth quarter for back up Kerry Collins. Other members of the offense also had problems holding onto the ball, as they committed 4 other turnovers.
“I’m not disappointed in him or his development, his path or anything like that. It’s a decision I made to try to win the ballgame,” said coach Jeff Fisher.
