The NCAA has announced they have suspended UNC defensive back Kendric Burney 6 games and safety Deunta Williams for 4 games. Both players received the suspensions for receiving improper benefits.
Both players are required to repay the benefits. It’s believed that Burney received $1333 and Williams received $1426; they will be required to pay $575 and $450 respectively to charities of their choice.
The school plans on appealing the suspension lengths. UNC had the 2 sit out the first 2 games of the season, which will count towards their suspension. 10 other players are waiting for decisions on their part in the scandal.
