Free Agent Profile: Tyson Chandler

Center – Dallas Mavericks – 7’1″, 235 lbs

Strengths

Chandler is your prototypical role-playing center. He is definitely more athletic than the average center which enables him to move up and down the floor well. Because of his size, he rebounds like a champ and plays above average defense. He shoots a high field goal percentage; almost all of his shots are close to the basket. Continue reading

Free Agent Profile: Delonte West

Guard – Boston Celtics – 6’3″, 180 lbs

Strengths

Delonte has a mid-range jump shot a lot of guards would kill for. He attacks the basketball well and plays outstanding defense for his size. Probably one of the best combo guards in the leauge, can run an offense well or play off the ball. Every team needs players like Delonte West. He’s a hard-worker that can fill multiple roles. Free Agent Profile: Rodney Stuckey

Point Guard – Detroit Pistons – 6’5″, 205 lbs

Strengths

Has a really nice mid-range jump shot. Solid scorer when he gets to the basket. Great finisher around the hoop. Quietly put together a solid season last year. Saw career highs in his free throw percentage, assists per game, and 3-point field goal percentage; though that is still nothing to write home about. Continue reading

Free Agent Profile: David West

Power Forward – New Orleans Hornets – 6’9″, 240 lbs

Strengths

One of the better offensive Power Forwards in the league. Has a really consistent mid-range jump shot. Shoots a good free throw percentage, above average passer for a big man. Before he got hurt last campaign, he was quietly having his most efficient season shooting from the field in several years. Continue reading

Free Agent Profile: Tracy McGrady

Guard – Detroit Pistons – 6’8″, 223 lbs

Strengths

McGrady was one of the best true scorers in the league once upon a time. Unfortunately, those days are long gone. The man can still score. He just can’t do it as many ways as he could three or four years ago. One definite plus though, his .442 field goal percentage last year was his best since 2003. He also has always been a very good ball-handler; he’s definitely capable of playing point guard in a pinch. Continue reading

Free Agent Profile: Glen “Big Baby” Davis

Forward/Center – Boston Celtics – 6’9″, 289 lbs

Strengths

Davis has a decent skill set for a height-deprived big man. What he lacks in athleticism he makes up for with body control. For his size, he’s surprisingly quick on his feet. Has a mid-range jump shot that he can knock down pretty regularly when given the chance. He just needs to do a better job of recognizing his range. At times, he’ll be the hardest worker on the floor. Great at taking charges. Continue reading

Free Agent Profile: Deandre Jordan

Center – Los Angeles Clippers – 6’11″, 265 lbs

Strengths

Good leaper. Height and length is very good for a center. He has the tools to be a really strong rebounder. He can finish around the rim with layups and dunks with ease. Continue reading

Good all round player. His bread and butter is attacking the basket, but he has a really nice mid-range game and can extend his shot beyond the three point line. Continue reading

Free Agent Profile: J.R. Smith

Shooting Guard – Denver Nuggets – 6′ 6″, 220 lbs

Strengths

Smith can flat out score the basketball. Outside of maybe Jamal Crawford, he’s probably the best natural scorer available in this free agency period. Continue reading
