The Astros have worked hard to rebuild this system; multiple trades, a strong draft, and a few guys really moving forward.

Season Preview: Houston Astros
With the Astros joining the AL West this year, they are introducing a new look team; unfortunately for those in Houston, it resembles more of a minor league team than a major league one. Let’s look at what is in store for the Astros.

MLB Power Rankings – 10/05/2012: Final Rankings
In the final rankings of the year, the Nationals jump back up to the top as the Rangers somewhat collapse down the stretch. The Rangers will be a wild card team after ranking first in 17 of the 22 weeks; this week they are the lowest of the year.
And the Indians finish at the bottom, which they’ve owned for the third week in a row. While the Astros have the worst record and run differential, they have hope in a solid farm system.
As like the rest of the season, these Power Rankings are composed of record, run differential, and farm system; record carries the most weight and farm system the least.

Tooting My Own Horn – Predicting the Triple-A Affiliate Dance

The Tragic Tale of Tyler Greene
Why does it seem like the Cardinals have an issue turning prospects into players? Going back to Alan Benes, there have been guys with potential that never reach it. GM Scores: Jeff Luhnow
Here is the first full GM score table; this will be the new format (at least until I get another way to improve them). I’m going to do this for all active GMs with all of their moves and the WAR they produced. This will be updated after each season. Eventually I’ll be adding scores for each GM to be able to compare them to other GMs. First up is Jeff Luhnow of the Astros.

Looking at the Astro Prospects

The Parts Start to Move
The Houston Astros have been the first to make moves this season; it’s obvious that they are rebuilding and they need better prospects in their system.
After already trading Carlos Lee to the Marlins for 3B Matt Dominguez and RHP Rob Rassmussen, they made 2 more moves late last week.
