Stan Musial passed away yesterday. “The Man” was 92 years old and is one of the all-time greatest baseball players that ever lived. I personally always felt that he was under-appreciated as a player and it is a shame that his accomplishments will not be appreciated until his passing. I am going to help you appreciate “The Man” who I always appreciated.

The Minnesota Twins have announced that they will be retiring Number 10, the number of former manager Tom Kelly. Kelly won two World Series as the leader of the Twins (1987 and 1991) and is the team’s all-time leader in managerial wins, 1,140 in 15 seasons with the Twins. The number will be retired on September 8.

One of the best parts of baseball is the arguments. Fans can argue and debate which player is better. Fans can get heated defending their choice and come up with statistics to back their favorites. There are times when it is not so easy to decide who is better, no matter what is used to back their favorite player. New York Yankees fan have been embarrassingly blessed. It seems that every generation there is a home grown player that becomes adopted by New York as that generation’s “golden child”. On Saturday, by hitting a home run to left field on a 3-2 pitch from David Price, we saw the latest Yankees legend do something that had never been done before. They keep telling you in their commercials that this year they have their greatest “Final Four Ever!”. Really? We have the greatest reality game called baseball and it has been played for over 125 years, and over the past 8 weeks we have been voting to find our greatest player ever. Our “Final Four” is four players who are all-time great players in the all-time greatest game.
