Well we’ve now reached the halfway point of the 2012 NFL season. It’s time for my midseason award winners:
Most Valuable Player: Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos

This Monday night will see a matchup between my favorite team, the Bears, and one of my least favorite teams, the Cowboys. Forgive me as this is my first piece of writing about the NFL. Any comments are welcome, both positive and negative… both help. So, my hunch is that this is going to be a fantastic game. Let’s see if I can back this up with some stats.
Two teams each drafted 5 players that they had shown interest. 6 Teams did not draft any players that they had shown any pre-draft interest. 56 players in all were drafted by teams that showed interest in them (22%).
Here’s the link to my list of each prospect that teams showed interest in prior to the draft. I’ll add the undrafted free agents on Monday after all of those signings are finalized.
Why are these players available? Well, because there were so many boneheaded picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Continue reading
The first two picks are set as the Colts have confirmed that they will be taking Stanford’s Andrew Luck and the Redskins obvious choice is Robert Griffin III from Baylor. The question comes at three. Do the Vikings really want LSU’s corner Morris Claiborne? Or is it just a smokescreen? We’ll find out tomorrow night. Continue reading
