The Cardinals have built one of the best systems in baseball; a far cry from where they were 10 years ago. They have about 5 guys who are Top 50 worthy and continue to draft well.

Jeff Luhnow and the First Overall Pick
When the draft comes in June, I think Astro fans will be surprised with the first overall pick. While Byron Buxton is the best player, I don’t think he’s going to be an Astro.
Why would a team pass on a talent like Buxton? Because Jeff Luhnow knows how to build a minor league system.

2011 MLB Mock Draft: Version 4.0 — Final Version
The MLB Draft is tonight and here is my final mock draft. It’s pretty much been written that the Pirates are taking Gerrit Cole first over all; I’m convinced of it as well. After that, there are many question marks. Will Danny Hultzen’s contract demands really cause him to fall? Will the Royals stick with their commitment to be more active in the area draft prospects, like Bubba Starling? Will the D’backs, Padres, and Brewers play it safe with their un-protected picks?
