Sorry if things have been a little slow on the site for the last few weeks – life comes up every now and then. I’ll get more into that later.

I’ve noticed a disturbing trend this off-season — the increased pay of relievers. I’m not talking about the closers either. The off-season started with Joaquin Beniot signing a 3 year, $16.5MM deal with the Detroit Tigers. I saw that as mighty high, although it matched the last major reliever deal from last season (Brandon Lyon sign for 3 years and $15MM with the Astros). Since then, we’ve seen multiple relievers get deals in the same range. Will they be worth it?
