2012 NFL Draft Team Interests
Sorry for the missing link, but for some reason when I tried to update this post, it stopped allowing me to. aHere’s the new post and it’s the one that’s going to be updated from now on.
Searching for Answers in the Final Four
The divisional playoffs delivered as promised last weekend, giving us a thrilling Saints-49ers game, a record-setting Patriots performance, a dry but competitive Ravens win and a shocking upset by the Giants. Can the conference championships possibly measure up?
That’s the first of many questions about these two games. Can the poor Patriots defense slow down the Ravens offense? Just how good is Alex Smith? Does Joe Flacco have what it takes to get a Super Bowl berth? Will the Giants turn it over against the 9ers the way New Orleans did? What is our most compelling Super Bowl matchup?
Let’s explore that final point. Our four potential Super Bowl match-ups are: Continue reading
NFL Conference Championship Rankings
We are getting down to the wire in this second to last round of the 2011-2012 NFL Season. Unexpectedly, we lost some major powerhouses last week with the Packers and Saints both falling out of the running. We are left with the final four with the 49ers and Giants in the NFC and the Ravens and Patriots in the AFC. For those of you playing postseason games, we’ve ranked the remaining contenders for you. Good luck!

This Week in Sports Gambling-1/10/2012
The week ahead is going to be a good one for sports fans and a great week for bookies. Playoff football is upon us once again and that means there will be a lot of people with gambling problems coming out of the woodwork, people that you didn’t know had gambling problems, your uncle Freddy perhaps or maybe your best friend Robert. These people have serious gambling problems, you just didn’t know about it yet.
But all of that has changed now. (“I’m not sure I would bet that much on the Steelers uncle Freddy.” ”But it’s a sure thing. Tebow can’t throw against this defense. Pittsburgh will win by at least nine! It’s a sure thing, damnit! It’s a sure thing!!! Now give me my checkbook before I get my belt.”) You can clearly see that it has and will be an ugly affair in these, the long and arduous weeks of the NFL playoffs. But like any good gambling addict, when you dig yourself into a hole the only thing to do is to go ahead and dig yourself out. We better start the digging with next weekend’s games.
Tebow Time and the Rest of Round One
There are things you just can’t explain.
As of last week, Denver was dead. They backed into the playoffs after a pathetic stretch of games that featured multiple turnovers in each game and two of Tim Tebow’s very worst performances. They caught a break when the Raiders sealed the stupidity of the Carson Palmer trade by falling to the Chargers, pushing Broncos into a round one faceoff with the mighty Steelers.
You all know what happened next. The Broncos won 29-23 in overtime behind 316 passing yards and three total touchdowns from the same quarterback who nobody believed was worth much as a passer. Continue reading
NFL Playoffs: Breaking Down the First Round
Once again, I’m going to pick every NFL playoff game, each week, for the entire playoffs. Feel free to laugh at me over the weekend if I get these horribly wrong. Continue reading
The NFL’s Final 12
After a wild week seventeen in everybody’s favorite professional sports league, we lower the curtain on another NFL regular season. Teams won and missed the playoffs, lost and made the playoffs and the Colts even locked up Andrew Luck. With the playoffs coming this Saturday, there’s little time to reflect on what we’ve seen; instead, let’s focus on what’s ahead. Here are the ranked playoff teams, including picks for MVP, ROY, COY and DPOY. Continue reading
2011 NFL Week 13 Power Rankings
Woops! Tebow did it again! Patrick Peterson did the same to the Rams. The Packers are obviously still the best team in the land, but do the 49ers deserve to keep steady at number two? Jump right in… Continue reading
