I am not saying anything that New York Mets fans haven’t already seen or known for the past offseason. The team is hard to watch. Even after taking 2 of 3 from the Cubs in Chicago, the win yesterday only garnered 4 runs. The Mets average 3 runs per game.

The talk around the Mets for since the arrival of Sadny Alderson as General Manager has been “2014 is our time”. All the planning, all the moves to dump bad contracts and deadbeat players, all the moves to bring in what would be a core going forward for sustained success would all point to 2014. Judge Sandy Alderson on that, that’s when the clock starts for Sandy: 2014. Well if 2013 is any indication, 2014 looks like more of the same.

While there is snow here (close to 2 and a half feet of it), many miles away in the sunshine of Florida is the sound of baseballs being tossed and caught. Players jogging, sweating getting ready for 6 months of an endurance run better known as the Baseball season. But for now it is pitchers and catchers.
