David Stern Threatens Sanctions Against the Spurs for Resting Players…Seriously

For a man who is set to retire in 2014, David Stern still has a lot fight left. Maybe he should save his fight for when he really needs it. Taking on the San Antonio Spurs Greg Popovich for resting his players during the course of an 82 game season is a wasted fight.

For those who missed it here is what happened: The Spurs played without Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Danny Green, all sent back to San Antonio by Coach Popovich, who said the move was in his team’s best interest.

Peyton Manning – Out Of Another Club

Peyton Manning was released from the Indianapolis Colts this week.  He was the first pick overall in the 1998 draft and had been their starting quarterback ever since.  The Colts were the only club that he ever knew.  However when he signs with a new organization, he will leave another exclusive club; players that were drafted by one organization and played for that team their entire career (and a minimum of 14 years). Message to the NBA: Avoid A Lockout If You Know What’s Good For You

If you’ve been following the NFL Lockout at all, you’ve seen that it’s an absolute mess. I mean, at the conclusion of the NFL Draft, there were different rules in place for organizations and personnel then there were when the draft started. That’s wild. And it seems like this is a situation that isn’t going to get wrapped up anytime in the near future.
